Hey Guys! Remember me? It's been so long since the last time I presented you all with a blogpost and it's quite clear that an update and new content is long overdue!! With everything going on in the world, Covid-19, the black lives matter movement, police brutality, racism, inequality, the marches, the protests and the civil unrest...there's just been so much that's consumed my daily thoughts and my emotions. And, of course we can't forget the last time you all heard from me in blogpost format, I'd just gone through the emotionally devastating ordeal of having my Instagram account hacked into. I shared the stress, pain and frustration of that experience in the most raw and honest way I could. In the event you missed that blogpost, click here to catch up. Also, if any of you remember, in that particular post, I left you all with the following words...
No Weapon Formed Against Me Shall Prosper! The set-back may have been unfortunate and cost me some tears, headache and grief. But the bounce back and the come-up is about to be all the way REAL!
Well, I most certainly meant that and believe in my heart the come-up has already begun. Although, I've been absent from blogging, my social media accounts have been extremely active, which they usually always are. If you're not following please do me a favor and make sure you're following me on both Instagram and Facebook, because it's always where I'm the most active and share consistent daily doses of design inspiration. And, I think it goes without saying that in addition to following me on social media, subscribing to my blog is always a pretty sure and secure way to not lose touch with me.
Also, the great news is while I wasn't able to recover or retrieve my original Instagram account, which was hacked into...I was however able to reclaim my original handle name, @alluredbydesign, which honestly meant and still means the absolute most to me. Yes, I had to say goodbye to all 25.5K of my followers, but as I shared with you all when I first announced the news that I was hacked....my handle name is also the name of my legal state and federal Businessname. In other words, I own that name, so to be locked out of being able to use it for social media purposes was extremely hurtful and highly frustrating. Yet, God heard my prayer and once again it's mine and in the hands of its rightful owner. So my social media handles and website link are all once again consistent and continuous for branding purposes, and the OCD personality within me is happy and smiling!! 😁

Now while I'm not back up to my original numbers of 25.5K followers, I have been growing steadily and daily and for that I'm most thankful and appreciative. I'm super thankful for the many influencers, brands, family and friends that have been re-sharing my story and featuring me on their feeds and in their IG stories, helping me to get the word out and aiding me with recovering as many of my followers as possible. It's truly aided in the biggest way with getting me back out there to the masses and once more giving my account and my work visibility. And, even though I have a ways to go with growing my numbers...it's not really something that I focus heavily on. Instead I focus on the content, my engagement and all of the amazing new followers I've been blessed to virtually meet along this journey. For the increase of numbers and rise of my followers will come in time as they should.
But, the support I've received throughout this process has been so humbling and many times have just brought me to tears. I have nothing but gratitude even for the losses, because they have and are preparing me for the big wins!! And, I most certainly do have some great new and exciting content coming your way.
I won't share it all right here or right now...But I will say the first will be my Summer Styling blogpost where I'll be sharing some beautiful decorative updates I've done to my home and tips on how you all can spruce up your own home for the warmer season, now that Summertime is officially here. Also, I may or may not have shot and Produced two new high quality design videos for you all to indulge in. Even with Covid-19 in our midst, my Videographer and I found a way to be safe and get some filming done. And, of course my Photographer and I took advantage of this quarantine time and have shot what feels like a million stunning new photos.
What else, I may or may not be gearing up to debut to all of my blog subscribers either a monthly or quarterly newsletter to you all very soon as a way to communicate with you all even more, and share my thoughts on all things design and many other topics as well. The rest you'll have to stay tuned for, as some of my 2020 projects have now been pushed to 2021 due to the pandemic crisis. But rest assured, even with the delayed release they're all very big projects that I'm super excited about (and even nervous) and truly looking forward to sharing and taking you all along the journey with me. But for now, I have to move in silence, as I typically love to do until the time is right to share more.
Before I bring this post to a close, I'd also like to share that I did this somewhat unofficial virtual press tour of my hacking experience. I was invited to do several lives on Instagram and share my experience in an effort to aid and warn others about cyber attacks. I also did a podcast about the experience a few months ago.
