JCPenney Spring Home Campaign

So remember just last week, I shared with you all that the very first partnership campaign I'd be debuting to you guys was one that I was highly excited about, as it's with a major brand. Well, today I can finally publicly announce my partnership with JCPenney on their 2019 Spring Home Campaign. The campaign in particular my brand was hired and offered an opportunity to take part in is the Super Beds Campaign, which is all about their latest and greatest beautiful Spring bedding.

However, before I drop even more beauty that's within all of these photos, let me share a little bit of the backstory on how this partnership came to be. C'mon now...ya'll should know me by now. For me, err'thing begins and ends with a great story. What can I say? I'm a storyteller. The profile on my instagram page reads these exact words...

"I'm a creative storyteller! I create, weave and tell stories through the medium of film and design."

It's truly who I am and what I do. All of my creative talents lead back to one basic thing, telling a great story. So let's continue, shall we?

So JCPenney initially reached out to me at the end of last year asking if I'd be interested in partnering with them to promote Lionel Richie's new home line, which would be sold both online and in local JCPenney stores. At the time they reached out, I was Associate Producing Southern Charm: New Orleans - Season 2 for Bravo with little to no flexibility to make the partnership work. I've learned through trial and error not to take on more than I can handle or not to stretch myself too thin. And, had I agreed to partner with JCPenney when they first offered, I not only would've created extra stress for myself...But I would've also pushed my anxiety through the roof working to accommodate unattainable deadlines and deliverables due to my demanding film schedule. Lastly, I wouldn't have been able to execute to the best of my creative talent and ability while being stretched so thin.

So I made the hard decision to decline the offer, but put it out there that I'd love for me and my brand to be considered for any 2019 Campaigns. Well low and behold, JCPenney took note of that and reached back out to me in late March with an even better offer to partner with them for their Spring Home Campaign. The timing was so much better, as I was wrapping up film work on a TV Pilot for 20th Century Fox and expecting to be done in early April.

Now take in mind that my Photographer and I already had a couple of photo and video shoots scheduled on our calendar for all of the Spring and Summer content I'd be debuting this year. However, I absolutely had no intention on declining a 2nd offer to partner with JCPenney. In addition, our schedule allowed for a little bit more flexibility this time around to make it work...not a whole lot, but enough for us to do what we do best. When it comes to planning, coordinating, and executing logistics...I must say I'm a beast at it. It's literally what I get paid to do in my film career. I plan and coordinate production logistics to get a project produced.

So even though there was flexibility to make the partnership happen this time around, as I mentioned it still wasn't a whole lot of it. Nonetheless, I kicked into planning mode and completely restructured all of the shooting logistics for me and my Photographer's Spring and Summer schedule...All in an effort to make everything work and to align the shoot for JCPenney up first and foremost. So without further ado, let's get into the reason you're all here and allow me to present you with my latest Spring and Summer look in the master bedroom of my home, #HousePiazza with gorgeous bedding from JCPenney.

The name of this beautiful bedding collection is called the JCPenney Home Trellis 10-Pc. Floral Comforter Set, which just screams springtime and summer relaxation to me. Everything about this bedding is just so beautiful and serene...the calming tones of coral and neutrals alone are just a match made in Spring home decor heaven. I seriously fell in love with this collection the moment I saw it and knew right away that this would be the bedding I'd want to not only promote but also style in my own home and in particular, my master bedroom.

However, what really excited me the most about this bedding was the fact that the set comes with a coral throw!!! YES!! You heard me correct. Or, rather you read that correct, lol. This 10-Pc. collection actually includes the throw as shown in my photos all photographed by my amazing photographer, Stacy Marks.

Besides the beautiful colors of the bedding, I have to also stress how amazing all of the various textures are throughout the entire collection. You get a little bit of soft and luxurious velvet and there's also linen, which makes the bedding lightweight and is perfect for hot summer months. Then you also get all of the intricate coral colored, yarn trellis detailing throughout the collection as well. And, my personal favorite which the photos don't truly do it justice is the surprising shimmer element that's visible in the ivory and white trellis pattern throughout the bedding. Talk about such an understated beauty!!!

Also, what truly caught me by surprise or what made me feel like this was indeed the perfect bedding choice for my master bedroom was how well my personal monogram pillows went with this JCPenney collection. It seriously looked as if my monogram "P" pillows were sold together with the bedding right?

My monogram pillows were ordered and purchased years ago from Pottery Barn and I always intended to use them as bedding pillows. However, because I have sooooooo many toss pillows, I've collected over the years, including recent years after having our (me and Hubbie's) current home built...these in particular got lost in the shuffle of so many other gorgeous pillows. Sadly, I hate to admit that but it's true. Nonetheless, I FINALLY had the perfect bedding collection to pair them with and I could not be more happy with how beautiful it all came together.

I mean seriously, do ya'll see how much of a match made in decor heaven the light taupe threading of my monogram P works with the neutral tones of the bedding? AND, how it compliments the coral tones as well?!?!? Oh, and don't even get me started on how beautiful the three decorative pillows included in the collection are as well.

Now I must say this a HUGE deal, especially as someone who prefers to customize and style my own toss pillows. I typically or hardly ever care for decorative pillows that come along with a bedding set. Why? They rarely appeal to me, or they're just designed so poorly and cheap that I always find myself doing away with them. But not these! These are actually not just beautiful in texture, tone and color...but they're also well made. Very good job JCPenney!

A few other items I added to my master bedroom that also came from JCPenney but wasn't however a part of the trellis bedding collection, yet added to the springtime vibe I was going for...were the additional ivory decorative pillows styled on my settee bench. In addition, the white coral accent and a beautiful matte white and mercury candle both styled atop of my bedside table/nightstand.

For the longest I've been wanting to style a coral accent in my home and I finally had the chance to do so with this campaign. Overall just sooooo many great things came out of this collaboration. And, I'm truly grateful I was offered the opportunity to partner with JCPenney and style my master bedroom with such a beautiful bedding collection. Ironically, right before JCPenney reached out with the offer for me to take part in this Spring Home Campaign...I was planning on updating my bedding to a completely different comforter set altogether from a different brand. But I'm loving this Trellis collection so much, I'm almost positive it'll be on my bed all Spring and Summer season long. I'll just save the other bedding to debut perhaps this Fall season. You'll have to stay tuned for that.

But in the meantime, let's all just enjoy the springtime vibes of this beautiful collection, which you all can purchase both in your local JCPenney stores or online simply by clicking here. Let's also enjoy the below assortment or gallery of some of my favorite shots from the JCPenney Spring Home Campaign photoshoot, because as always they're were soooo many good ones Stacy captured.

Be sure to stay tuned for what other new content I'll be debuting to you all next. However, if you'd like some hints on what design creativity is coming your way, you can always catch up on my previous blogpost where I share a few hints by clicking here. Until next time...

I love you 3000!
